Trim and Augment tools

§ THE TRIM AND AUGMENT TOOLS ALLOW YOU TO CUT OR EXTEND A SELECTED POLYGON FEATURE ON YOUR

 MAP.

                                                                                          TRIM TOOL

1. Select the polygon on your map using the SELECT BY CLICKING map selection tool.

2. To cut a section of your polygon select the TRIM tool.

3. Draw the polygon area that you want to cut from the selected polygon on the map.

• Draw by clicking vertices on the map.

• Make sure to start and finish outside the selected polygon.

• Right click to remove a vertex at any time while you are drawing.

• Double click when you are finished.

4. The area where both polygons intersect will be removed from your original polygon.

                                                                              AUGMENT TOOL

1. Select the polygon on your map using the SELECT BY CLICKING map selection tool.

2. To extend a section of your polygon select the AUGMENT tool.

3. Draw the polygon area that you want to add to the existing polygon.

• Draw by clicking vertices on the map.

• Make sure to start and finish inside the selected polygon.

• Right click to remove a vertex at any time while you are drawing.

4. Double click to finish.

5. The area where both polygons intersect will be added from your original polygon.
