Buffer Tool

§ THE BUFFER TOOL ALLOWS YOU TO CREATE A BUFFER (RADIUS) LAYER AROUND MULTIPLE POINTS. YOU CAN ALSO CREATE BUFFER LAYERS AROUND LINE OR AREA FEATURES. (Ensure your layer is selected that you are buffering)

1. Go to your Tools tab and select Buffer.

2. A LAYER OPERATION box will appear.

3. Type in the distance you require. (Distance is in meters.)

4. If you only want to buffer selected features in your layer, tick on SELECTED GEOMETRIES. Otherwise leave it ticked off.

8. Click OK.

9. A layer properties box will appear.

10. Click OK.

11. The new buffer layer will add to the map.
