Flipping renderers

A renderer is a computer program designed to display graphics data on your monitor or printer.

GDIPlus is a common renderer for 2D and DirectX is more of a 3D renderer.  OpenGL is for 2D and 3D but is not as well supported.

If you have GDIPlus on for 3D data, data that is in front might appear to be behind other data.
