Add Excel layer, Link Excel range
❖The Add Excel layer(1) button will add whatever worksheet you are on as a layer in your spatial pane. You will be prompted to choose its layer properties when done click OK(2) and the layer has been added(3):
❖The Link Excel range(1) button will add the selected range as linked data. In this example I will add some Sub Place codes as linked data, this I will link to my Retail Outlets layer. After clicking the button you will be prompted to create your link. Click Add Link(2):
Choose the Name(1) of the new link , then select the Target(2) layer that you want to link to. Then choose the column/s to link on in your linked data by Linked Column(3). Now choose the corresponding column in your target layer to link on by Target Column(4). When done click OK(5) and your link has been added(6) :
Anything I now filter on in my SP CODES(1) sheet in Excel will now filter in my Retail Outlets in my scene as well since they are now linked:
