In all our spatial products, the Selection tab allows you to select items in the scene in many different and useful ways. For example, if you wanted to select all points intersecting certain polygon etc. areas you could use the Select by Location tool:

You can then use the Invert Selection facility to select all points Not intersecting the polygons/shapes in question:
